What can we do for employers?

At the Lacombe and District Employment Services Centre, we recognize the struggles our local businesses encounter when trying to locate the right person for the job. We have access to a large pool of qualified potential employees and in cooperation with employers, we represent one of the most effective tools available to quickly and efficiently fill those open positions. Services to the business community are free of charge. All services listed are accessible from the Lacombe, Ponoka and Rimbey offices.

Services Available Include:

• Job Postings: The centre has a great deal of foot traffic from job seekers and an internal posting can reach a large number of people. Whether a long-term position or short-term, casual employment, we can help.



• Referrals: Based on your employment needs, centre staff can search through our extensive selection of job seekers to determine any potential matches for your open position.



• Employer Visits: We can arange in-person interviews with businesses and organizations in our service area to provide information and to discuss AE&I programs, services and resources that may assist employers to meet their needs.



• Employer Corners: The centre hosts "Employer Corners" by advertising for the employer throughout the communities and on-site, provides space for employers to display and feature their company profile and possibly recruit potential employees on site. As employers are in need of information and assistance in gaining, retaining and maintaining their business health through their employees, you will be provided with current labour market information to assist you in directing your business. This can include visits, areas to showcase businesses and any required assistance.



• Employer Symposium: The centre hosts employer symposiums designed to bring a cross-section of employers together to listen to informative guest speakers provide information that will assist employers in attracting, developing and retaining their workforce.
  



• Job Fair: The centre hosts an annual job fair in Lacombe to bring employers and job seekers together from Lacombe and the surrounding area. Supports are provided on site to both employers and job seekers.
